Individual Therapy
Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and can be short term (8-12 sessions) or long term, depending on the issues presented and on your treatment goals. Weekly sessions are recommended at the beginning, but can be adjusted depending on your goals and current needs.
My Approach
In our work together, we will identify barriers to achieving your goals and focus on the issues that are most important to you. Some of my specializations include symptoms of anxiety, depression, having a low self-esteem or self-worth, struggles related to job satisfaction, relationship issues, life transitions, trauma, infertility, maternal mental health, and post-traumatic stress. Therapy will be customized to what works best for you. I utilize several different approaches depending on what feels right for you and what your current treatment goals are. I have a strong background in cognitive behavioral therapy and often incorporate mindfulness techniques. In addition, I am trained in EMDR, so this is also an option to help you address issues from your past that might still be impacting you today. My goal is to assist you in exploring what change looks like for you and to help you develop a plan to achieve that change.

Children & Adolescents
Sessions with children will typically be 50 minutes in length and can be short term (8-12 sessions) or long term, depending on the issues presented and on the current treatment goals. Weekly sessions are recommended at the beginning, but can be adjusted depending on the goals of the child and family.
My Approach
Therapy with children and adolescents is different than therapy with adults. Depending on the child’s age, therapy will look different. I often utilize play therapy with younger children (ages 2-6), as play is the language that children often use to express thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
I have been working with children and families for most of my professional career. I have worked with children in the school setting, community mental health setting, and in private practice.
I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and can utilize this treatment modality, when requested or when it appears to be the best fit for the child and family’s current needs.

In this way, it is easier to get a thorough assessment of the current issues, communication patterns, and family needs.
Family sessions can be conducted in Spanish and English to accommodate different languages within the family.
My Approach
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I often find myself looking at issues, strengths, relationships, and problems from a family systems lens. Family therapy is unique in that involves many different viewpoints. Each member of a family plays a substantial role and figuring out how these roles impact communication are a fundamental piece of therapy. In addition, when one member of the family is struggling or having challenges, all members are uniquely impacted.
Watching families find unity, engagement, and positive communication with one another is truly one of the best parts of being a family therapist.
